Rob Bell’s extraordinary and provocative Drops Like Stars, published as part of the Rob Bell Classics relaunch, explores the relationship between suffering and creativity, and the transformative power of pain.‘We plot. We plan. We assume things are going to go a certain way. And when they don’t, we find ourselves in a new place – a place we haven’t been before; a place we never would have imagined on our own. It is the difficult and the unexpected, and maybe even the tragic, that opens us up and frees us to see things in new ways.‘Many of the most significant moments in our lives come not because it all went right but because it all fell apart. Suffering does that. It hurts, but it also creates. This book is an exploration of the complex relationship between suffering and creativity, driven by the belief that there is art in the agony.’ Rob Bell

Is the world really coming to an end in 2012? The answer frighteningly is ‘maybe’, according to the Bible, the I Ching, the Mayans, meteorologists and vulcanologists. Apocalypse 2012 is cheerful sceptic Laurence E Joseph’s investigation into the 2012 Doomsday phenomenon.Journalist and science writer Laurence E Joseph is our incisive and witty guide unravelling the religious, astrological and mystical prophecies behind the potentially earth-shattering events of 2012. And at the core of this book is Joseph's investigation into the growing number of scientific researchers trying to figure out why conditions around our planet are becoming so bizarre. His adventures include:• Hooking up with the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement whose cheerful motto 'Live Long and Die Out' is now available as a tattoo.• Meeting the scientists who are trying to figure out why the present state of the sun is so worrisome – is it just going through a phase or is something major going on?• Visiting Yellowstone National Park to see whether the seething supervolcano could soon stop civilisation dead in its tracks.• Exploring the possibility of a terrorist attack that could plunge the whole Northern Hemisphere into the equivalent of a nuclear winter. So, if 2012 really is going to be a year of unprecedented catastrophe, what can we do to increase our odds of surviving it? Should we head for the Kentucky hills or hightail it to Western Africa, where the Australian Doomsday 2012 enthusiast is staking his claim, or perhaps we'd be better blasting off for solar systems unknown? With its mixture of hard science, investigative reportage and cast of colourful characters, Apocaplyse 2012 is Fast Food Nation for the terminally paranoid.

The final book from the world’s favourite medium, who died in 2002, contains 101 original poems about life and commentaries on each one.Betty Shine died in March 2002 of heart failure, a bitter irony for a woman who spoke from the heart and devoted much of her life to healing others.Having spent the last decade of her life committing her thoughts and tales of her incredible experiences to paper, producing 11 popular and often best-selling books, Betty had begun experimenting with a new outlet for her unique philosophy of life – writing poetry. Though she had written heartfelt poetry for many years, it was only in her last year that it was finally being recognized as being really special, when she began getting interest from professional record producers about setting some to music and turning a number of these verses into lyrics. It seemed that the musical instincts Betty had honed as a professional opera singer were showing themselves quite unwittingly in the way she wrote poetry. This final book from Betty Shine collects together 101 of Betty's poems, and is introduced by her daughter, Janet, who worked closely with Betty and has inherited many of her amazing psychic gifts. Janet also provides a short introduction to each poem, which allows the reader a unique intimacy into the background to each one. The collection is at once thought-provoking and inspiring, and presents an honest summary of so many of the thoughts and sentiments that made Betty's books so popular and stimulating. Betty’s wisdom enshrined in these pieces will provide support and solace to her many devoted fans, as well as being the perfect introduction for those who have yet to be touched by the mind magic of Betty Shine.

The crystal skulls are a mystery as profound as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Nazca Lines of Peru, or Stonehenge. Many indigenous people speak of their remarkable magical and healing properties, but nobody really knows where they came from or what they were used for. Were they left behind after the destruction of a previous world, such as Atlantis? Are they simply ingenious modern fakes or can they really enable us to see deeply into the past and predict the future? Searching for the answers takes the authors on a fantastic odyssey through both the physical and the spiritual world. After hearing stories of an old native American legend that describes the existence of thirteen ancient crystal skulls, that are said to speak or sing and hold important information about the origins, purpose and destiny of mankind. The authors set out on their own quest to find the truth about the skulls. They encounter psychics, UFO hunters, shamans, mystics and medicine men on a journey of discovery that takes them from the British Museum in London to the deserts of the United States, from the science labs of Hewlett Packard to the cold snows of Canada and the tropical jungles of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. At sacred gatherings of native elders they learn of ancient wisdom kept secret for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. They hear of startling prophecies concerning events that will happen on this Earth in the immediate future, prophecies that question the very survival of the human species on this small island we call home. This is the story of their remarkable discoveries.
